Installer is 36 KB. Auto-downloads ~50-200 MB dependencies during install. First-time takes 5-10 min.

Download installer

Go to gowabot.com and click "Download Windows Installer" to get wabot-installer-0.1.6.zip.

Extract

Right-click the zip β†’ Extract Here. Recommended location: Desktop or D:\ for easy access.

Double-click install.bat

You'll see install.bat after extracting. Double-click it. Windows will prompt "Run as Administrator", click Yes.

⚠️ Antivirus may interfere Some antivirus tools (like 360, Defender) occasionally flag installer scripts. Click "Run anyway" β€” Wabot is legitimate software with open audit-trail.

Choose language

Menu shows: 1) zh-CN Chinese / 2) Espanol / 3) English. Type the number and press Enter.

Accept EULA

License agreement is shown. Read and type yes to continue.

Trial OR enter activation code

Trial: just press Enter β€” 14 days free, no credit card required.

Activation code: paid customers paste their 16-character code from email (format ABCD-EFGH-IJKL-MNOP).

Wait 5-10 min for auto-install

Script auto-downloads Node.js / NSSM / Cloudflared / browser components. Progress bar shown. Don't interrupt.

If it fails: script auto-uploads error log + shows fix suggestions on screen (don't close the window).

Desktop shortcut

After install, you'll see Wabot Owner Console shortcut on Desktop. Double-click to open in Chrome/Edge.

Scan WhatsApp QR code

The dashboard shows a QR code + "Scan" button on first open. On your WhatsApp mobile app: Settings β†’ Linked Devices β†’ Link Device β†’ scan this QR code.

πŸ“± Binding WhatsApp

Step 9 (scan QR) takes effect immediately. Your phone is NOT replaced β€” Wabot becomes a "Linked Device" (like WhatsApp Web).

What this means
  • Your phone keeps using WhatsApp normally
  • When customers message you β†’ it appears on Wabot too
  • Wabot replies on your behalf β†’ customers see messages from your number (not a bot's)
  • Customers can't tell the difference (only signature/tone may differ slightly)

Switch computers / Reinstall OS

Wabot license is bound to one machine. To switch:

  1. Email [email protected], subject "Switch device + your activation code"
  2. We unbind your old install within 24h (no charge)
  3. Install on new computer, enter same activation code

Left sidebar β†’ Menu Management β†’ add items. Each has:

OCR auto-import: take a photo of your menu β†’ upload β†’ Alibaba OCR + GPT Vision extract items + prices β†’ click "Confirm" to save.

WhatsApp Status card β†’ βš™οΈ Edit Owner Number.

Owner number is the phone you send commands from (different from the bound WhatsApp number which is what bot uses to reply customers).

If customer message contains certain keywords β†’ bot doesn't reply, forwards the message to your owner number for manual response.

πŸ”§ Troubleshooting

Issue 1: Install fails halfway

The script auto-uploads error logs to Wabot servers. Within 10 minutes, our team will see and may proactively contact you. Common fixes are shown on screen (e.g. "Disable 360 antivirus and retry").

Manual reinstall:

1. Double-click uninstall.bat
2. Restart computer
3. Run install.bat again

Issue 2: Bot not replying after QR scan

  1. Check WhatsApp Settings β†’ Linked Devices β†’ Wabot still listed?
  2. Check admin's WhatsApp Status β†’ "Online"?
  3. Check Auto-reply toggle β†’ enabled?
  4. Check Trial / License status β†’ not expired?
  5. Left sidebar β†’ Logs β†’ search for ERROR keyword

Issue 3: Customer says they didn't get bot's reply

1. Does Wabot collect my message privacy? Can you read what I and my customers chat?
No, we don't collect message content. All customer conversations are processed locally on your machine. AI calls go through encrypted channels (HTTPS+TLS). We can't see your specific chats. But your admin dashboard shows them (so you can review logs and do handoff).
2. Will Wabot work on Mac / Linux?
No. Currently only Windows 10/11 x64. Mac users: use Parallels/VMware to run Windows, or buy a cheap mini PC ($150+) dedicated to running Wabot.
3. How many computers can one activation code install on?
One. To switch computers, email [email protected] (handled in 24h, no charge).
4. What happens after the 14-day trial expires?
Bot auto-stops replies (to protect customer experience β€” won't randomly answer wrong). All data preserved. Pay $19 β†’ receive activation code email β†’ enter in admin β†’ instant resume. After 30 days unpaid, data is purged.
5. How do I pay?
Two ways: β‘  PayPal link (good for international customers) β‘‘ Yappy push directly to your Yappy app (good for Panama local). Email [email protected] for payment link.
6. How much does it cost?
$19 USD/month (~B/. 19). $190 USD/year (2 months free). $299 lifetime. MVP includes everything: AI calls, OCR calls, server, owner-paid β€” no extra charges.
7. Is there a limit on AI calls?
MVP: 50,000 AI replies per customer per month (= 1600 messages/day, plenty for most small shops). Over the limit triggers throttling (not cutoff) + email notice. Most shops use less than 5000/month.
8. Can my customers tell I'm using a bot?
Mostly no. Replies are humanized (GPT-4o / DeepSeek models), with appropriate tone, emojis, timing. Unless customers directly ask "are you a bot?", they can't tell. If you want bot to disclose, add to system prompt: "I'm X Restaurant's smart assistant".
9. Can I keep using my main WhatsApp on phone?
Yes. Wabot is a "Linked Device" (like WhatsApp Web). Phone keeps working. Customer messages sync both ways. If your phone replies first, bot won't reply again (avoids duplicates).
10. How does handoff work technically?
If customer message contains "order/buy/complaint/find owner" etc. keywords β†’ bot forwards that message to "owner number" (your other phone or WhatsApp group) β†’ owner replies in person. Bot only sends a "Owner will contact you shortly" reply in the original chat.
11. Can I teach the bot my restaurant's menu?
Yes. 3 ways: β‘  admin β†’ Menu Management β†’ add manually β‘‘ OCR-upload menu photo to auto-recognize β‘’ FAQ section: paste plain text descriptions. Bot uses these to answer "What's on the menu?", "How much is X?", "Can it be spicy?", etc.
12. Can the bot understand customers asking in Spanish / English?
Yes. Bot auto-detects message language (zh / es / en / pt) and replies in same language. You only need to fill menu in Chinese β€” bot auto-translates to customers.
13. Will WhatsApp ban my number for using a bot?
Theoretical risk exists but very low. Wabot has anti-ban measures: β‘  rate-limit (max 100 msg/hour) β‘‘ human-like delays (2-30 sec before reply) β‘’ no auto-add friends/group spam. Three years of using whatsapp-web.js protocol β€” no large-scale bans observed. If banned: stop Wabot 24h, appeal to WhatsApp, most cases recover.
14. Looks complex, can I install it without tech skills?
Yes. Wabot's 9-step install is fully automated. Any errors auto-collect logs + show fix suggestions. If issues persist, email [email protected] β€” we'll help remotely (you only paste one command line).
15. If Wabot servers go down, does my business stop?
No. Wabot bot runs on your computer. Most features work offline: receive messages, rule-matching, menu lookup. Only AI smart-reply needs internet. If our servers go down, bot switches to "manual mode" (forwards to owner) + emails alert + we have 24h SLA to fix.
16. How is my data backed up?
Two layers: β‘  Your computer's SQLite DB auto-backs up daily to C:\ProgramData\Wabot\backup (30 days kept) β‘‘ Our servers daily encrypted-backup your customer profile + payment records to Cloudflare R2 cloud. Both losing simultaneously: 0.0001%.
17. Can one computer run two WhatsApp accounts?
Not currently (one machine = one license = one WhatsApp number). Multi-account requires multiple computers or licenses. Multi-store license consolidation is on roadmap (Phase 6).
18. Can you train me how to use it?

19. Can I export my customer data?
Yes. admin β†’ Settings β†’ Data Export β†’ download CSV / JSON. Includes all customer conversations, menu clicks, payment records. Your data is yours, exportable anytime.
20. I want to refer a friend, are there rewards?
